Acupuncture

Chinese Medicine Acupuncture is a system of medicine based on ancient principles going back nearly two thousand years. It has become one of the most popular complementary therapies in the UK. The Chinese philosophy underpinning acupuncture is the concept of Qi, often described as the body’s vital energy, that flows freely within the meridians and channels throughout the whole body.

When the flow of Qi is impaired or blocked and can no longer flow freely, imbalances can occur. This can manifest itself as pain or illness, both physical and emotional. Many factors can cause a disruption to the free flow of Qi; such as stress, diet, lifestyle, injury and the environment

Acupuncture aims to restore balance of mind and body through the insertion of very fine, sterile, single-use needles in specific points on the body. This stimulates the body’s own healing process; to rebalance and thus promote health both physical and emotional.

Tui Na Chinese Massage

Tui Na is a highly advanced system of massage, forming an important component of Chinese medicine. It is used for both musculo-skeletal and internal conditions such as headaches, migraines, morning sickness and stress.

The techniques involve gentle stimulation of acupressure points, which help relieve pain and stiffness by invigorating the flow of Qi in the body. The effects may be deep and long lasting. The massage is often conducted through light clothing, with the client in lying or sitting position.
